Salote’s tourism journey began in 2011 when she was accepted as a customer care agent for an inbound tour operator in Nadi. This early experience ignited her passion for the industry and set the stage for a career focused on enhancing tourism in Fiji.
In 2014, Salote joined the government as a Tourism Officer. Since then, she has been a staunch advocate for responsible and sustainable tourism practices and has significantly contributed to shaping tourism policy by advocating for sustainable practices and initiatives all aimed at uplifting local communities and promoting ethical tourism.
Looking ahead, Salote remains committed to driving positive change within the tourism sector. She believes that each step towards sustainability creates a ripple effect, benefiting those whose livelihoods depend on tourism.
