Throughout the first two years of COVID-19 pandemic, Tourism Vancouver Island recognised that fundamental changes needed to be made if the industry would truly benefit the communities it serves. In 2021, Tourism Vancouver Island shifted from a destination management organisation to a social enterprise and with this shift 4VI is now able to control its strategy which is tied in with measures that align with its pillars of social responsibility.
