About the Speakers
Tim’s passion is for combining the sharing of our amazing natural resources in Aotearoa with the preservation and enhancement of them through the opportunity to educate the visitors we bring, while giving them amazing experiences.
He has held diverse roles in tourism including a SCUBA diving instructor and commercial vessel (game fishing and diving) skipper; co-owner and operator of Paihia Diver Hire and Charter (1994) Ltd in the Bay of Islands; Assistant Manager of a wilderness hunting and fishing resort, “Wiley Point Lodge” on an island in Lake of the Woods, Northwestern Ontario, Canada; Head of ifyoudive.com and ifyouexplore.com, online, activity specific travel websites based out of the UK; General Manager of Totally Tourism Limited, which incorporates a large stable of exciting aviation, cruise and active adventure businesses.
Most recently Mr Woods has held the role of General Manager at NZ Fine Touring and prior to that he was GM of Queenstown Experience at RealNZ and Head of Sales & Services at Cardrona Alpine Resort and Treble Cone. Before entering tourism, Mr Woods had run operations for Torpedo7 and been Managing Director of R&R Sport. He is also currently the Chair of Lake Wānaka Tourism and on the Snow Sports NZ Board.
